Here's how it goes:
- Recognise when you are doing the destructive behaviour pattern or when you are bringing your energy down by unhelpful and often unconscious thought processes and patterns.
- Congratulate yourself lavishly for catching it. Let go of judgement and frustration around the issue.
- Take several deep breaths. At least ten. It will help you to move out of habit and into a more conscious feeling space. Connect to the person you most yearn to be.
- Take one step right now in the direction of becoming your wiser self. We tend to wait for things to happen before we are committed to doing something different. For example, "I'll start exercising once we move house; once we're financially more stable; once I've lost some weight; once I have more time, etc." The only time we can make a change is right now.
