Who is jo proud?
Jo has a competitive sporting background but with regular ankle injuries she had to retire from competitive netball and with also suffering from reoccurring back problems it also meant giving up mid-distance running. Having always been involved in sports she wanted to retain her fitness level in an enjoyable but challenging manner that suited her nature and this was where in 2008 she discovered yoga.
Since then she has practiced dynamic and strong styles of Ashtanga and Forrest that both have provided her with significant benefits physically as the poses within her practice have strengthened her ankles significantly. Through focussing on poses to strengthen her core muscles her back has strengthened and also found that long-lost flexibility which means she is now running free of back pain. In 2011 she also had her second child and used her knowledge and experience of yoga to manage and recover from the physical of pregnancy and childbirth. There were also emotional benefits gained through her passion for yoga which has led her to change her life from a stressful high pressured lifestyle to one focussing on health and well-being.
