Who is Dee Cameron?
Having worked in a very target driven world of sales for more than 40 years Dee found herself seeking a calmer quieter way of life. People had recommended Yoga to her but she was too busy with Body Attack and Body Combat to consider the benefits of a calmer form of exercise.
However one day in 2014 Dee walked into Equilibrium Yoga Centre and practised Jivamukti with Janet Taylor and has never looked back. The light of Yoga lit and continues to burn brightly for her.
So in 2016 Dee left the corporate world of 40 years and headed out to Bali to study an intensive 200 hour Yoga Energetics Foundation Teacher Training course with Cat Kabira. The course was Hatha with a Forrest Infusion as Cat Kabira had previously worked closely with Ana Forrest
That same year, Dee returned to Bali to study a 100 hour course in Yin Yoga with Tina Nance.Tina’s interest in Meridian pathways and fascia combined with the mindfulness of Buddhism led Dee to take a further 100 hour Yoga Therapy Course with Tina Nance in 2017.
To complete her 500 hour Yoga Teacher Training programme Dee will return to Bali in November to study a further 100 hours in Mindfulness Yoga which she is hoping to bring into her Hatha classes and combine with Yin and Yang Yoga.
Dee regularly attends workshops and Yoga Retreats to grow her knowledge which she will always share with her students
Her Hatha style Yoga is Meridian based and she guides you to move energy through the body and release any stuck emotions concentrating on one or two meridians in each class.
Her passion is Yin Yoga where she guides you to work slowly to brighten your inner skies and release things from your past that may be stuck in the deep connective tissue
It is a floor based mindful slow practise where we find our edge and allow gravity and our breath to help us surrender and sink deeply into each shape we make. Always working with kindness and compassion in a state of being rather than doing.
What does Dee do at Equilibrium?
.Dee teaches Open Hatha Flow classes to all levels. Dee has two artificial hips and truly understands how to adapt postures to suit each individual body.
Dee also teaches Yin Yoga which may be described as a pressing of the pause button… a softening of the body and creating of space, allowing the body to release and let go.
Postures may be held for up to five or six minutes as we find our breath and slowly surrender to what is…
Both classes complement each other – Life is about balance – Yin and Yang.
