Tips for Beginners

If you are a beginner to yoga and would like to start slowly we recommend picking a class from the Workshops and Courses page under the Class Scheduler.

The beginner courses require pre-booking. Drop-ins are only possible if there are spaces. Priority is given to course bookings. Where possible book your course one or two weeks in advance, as they tend to fill up quickly.

Do I have to become a member?

No, you don't have to. Although Equilibrium offers memberships you don't have to commit to any number of classes. Pay as you go options are always available. If you start Please look under prices for further details.

What to bring and wear

Please wear comfortable clothing in which you can stretch easily. Track suit bottoms or leggings and a T-Shirt are fine. Although mats are provided, we recommend to bring your own mat. Mats can also be purchased from the centre.

General tips

  1. Avoid eating heavy meals at least 2 hours before the practice.
  2. Please arrive about 5-10 minutes before your first class, so you have enough time to fill out a registration form and discuss any concerns you might have with your teacher.
  3. Switch off or silence your mobile phone / pager in class as this can distract other students and is disrespectful to your instructor
