Who is Amber Rusk?
Amber first came to yoga under the mentorship of Senior Iyengar teacher Lorraine McConnon in the late 90s. After several years of this and other Hatha yoga's the burning desire to deepen her practice and teach became a reality along with marriage and a family.
Amber undertook her first teacher training in Hatha Yoga with the Kevala School for Holistic Health. In 2014 Amber continued to broaden her teaching skills by taking part in an intensive foundation Forrest Yoga teacher training programme with Ana Forrest and Forrest Guardians Sandra Robinson & Jambo Truong. This qualifies her as a Level 1 Forrest Yoga Teacher.
Forrest yoga is a physically intelligent living practice that guides you to connect to breath, strength and integrity as you will learn to recognise and embrace your wise, authentic self. Practitioners receive therapeutic hands on assists and are guided to practise struggle free.
What does Amber do at equilibrium?
Amber teaches Forrest and Hatha Yoga at Equilibrium. She is also currently working with Guardian Sandra Robinson on a 12-month mentorship programme. This is further developing her understanding of Forrest Yoga as a student, teacher and healer. Amber's mission through both teaching and practicing yoga is to heal the body, mind and spirit of trauma and denial and instead learn the skills of self appreciation and self permission.

1. Amber is a bit of a history buff and loves reading factual and reimagined tomes on eras such as Ancient Rome, Medieval and the historical lineage of the fascinating kings and queens of Europe. Mastermind standard!
2. Prior to finding her passion and commitment for teaching yoga she had an array of eclectic and fascinating jobs ... From Swedish Aupair, TV production runner, holiday advisor, marketing and events for Warner cinemas, Cineworld and the London Science Museum to a Town Centre Manager for Croydon!! Varied indeed!
3. Alongside ancient history Amber is also a Science Fiction literature geek. She loves the language and imagining of where we may be in the 23rd century and beyond. If she could come back in two or three thousand years to see where humans are she would ! How fascinating that so many of the discoveries of Leonardo Da Vinci have only been realised in our time and he was alive in the 15th century renaissance. She really does believe we will discover the secrets of the universe and in another lifetime a career as physicist would have been very appealing!
